Paris is hosting this year’s Summer Olympics from July 26 to August 11. Social media is buzzing with enthusiastic posts from athletes and fans alike, eagerly anticipating the event. To commemorate the occasion, Google has replaced its homepage logo with a doodle featuring animals participating in summer sports. This colorful and vibrant artwork will be displayed throughout Friday.

The Olympics officially open in Paris today. The opening ceremony, set for July 26, will be held on the Seine River, which flows through the city. The closing ceremony, featuring a parade of flags and athletes, will occur on August 11.
Competitions actually began two days prior to the opening ceremony, on July 24, with preliminary rounds in archery, soccer, handball, and rugby. India will have 117 competitors in 69 events vying for 95 medals, with 70 male and 47 female athletes. Notable Indian contenders include javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, badminton stars PV Sindhu, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and Chirag Shetty, and weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, among others.
Following the opening ceremony, India’s 2024 Paris Olympics campaign kicks off with the Indian men’s hockey team’s first pool game against New Zealand on Saturday, July 27. Badminton, boxing, shooting, and table tennis events also commence on the same day.
The events will be broadcast on Sports 18 and the Viacom 18 network. They will also be live-streamed for free on the JioCinema app.
