Her post has accumulated over two lakh views on the microblogging platform.

Many individuals relocate overseas to pursue advanced education or for an improved occupation. Most aspire to enhance their quality of life and living standards. However, a woman recently took to social media and conveyed that she is returning to India, after much contemplation. The internet user, who is known by the username @Parool_12, expressed her uncertainty in April and inquired if she should return to India. She mentioned that it would bring her “genuine joy and won’t consistently long for my homeland.” Now, nearly four months later, the user took to X (formerly Twitter) and informed her followers that she is moving back to her home country after resigning from her job. Her choice sparked a discussion on the internet, with some individuals supporting her and others questioning why she would make such a daring decision.

“Individuals should I just return to India permanently; clearly I won’t earn as much in India but at least I will be content, genuinely content and won’t consistently yearn for my homeland,” she stated in April, alongside a survey. She added that she does not wish to relinquish her Indian passport. “Individuals are going to say I’m foolish because I am on a work visa for 5 years which provides me an easy pathway to obtain the UK PR and citizenship but at what expense lol I don’t think I want to relinquish my Indian passport so what am I even doing here,” she wrote.

On July 30, the woman posted another update and mentioned that she resigned from her job and the decision to return back to India would alter the trajectory of her life. “I did it. I resigned from my job. I’m coming back to India. I acted on the decision that’s going to change the trajectory of my life and it genuinely showed a lot of courage. But I’ve done it,” she stated. The internet user mentioned in the comments section that she “always desired to settle in India and was distanced from family, therefore, very dissatisfied.”

Since being shared, the post has accumulated over two lakh views on the microblogging platform.

A user wrote, “new job is possible, growth is possible but obtaining citizenship opportunity has a significant cost and that is Time from your life & being there when you can seize it!”

Another added, “We will see in 3 years from now. You will regret your decision.”

“Foolish decision,” commented an X user.

“It’s better I did the same it’s better to establish something here than to toil away in UK,” remarked a third.

“I’m planning my departure as well, it’s like the foreign countries can provide you everything but the heart desires what it desires!” said another individual.

A user mentioned, “Indeed daring! But it is valuable. Also, traveling abroad can always compensate a bit for the things you’re abandoning.”
