Soldiers and Dog Squad in Wayanad Bid Farewell After Successful Rescue Operation
Local residents hailed the Indian Army personnel with cheers of ‘Glory to Mother India’.

Indian Army personnel in Kerala’s Wayanad were given a touching send-off after finishing a 10-day rescue operation in the city that was devastated by a deadly massive landslide.
The Kochi Defence Public Relations Officer (PRO), expressing profound gratitude for the valor and altruism displayed by the soldiers, stated, “We are deeply thankful to our courageous heroes who endangered everything during the landslide rescue operations…Your bravery and selflessness will be remembered.”

As they were about to depart the city, they were welcomed by the locals with cheers of ‘Glory to Mother India’ and ‘Hail to the Indian Army’, as shown in a video. The soldiers were accompanied by their canine teams.
Chooralmala and Mundakkai in Wayanad were struck by massive landslides on July 30, resulting in over 300 casualties and extensive destruction.
The Indian Army, along with the Indian Air Force and state authorities, carried out a bold rescue mission for more than 10 days.
On Tuesday, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced that his government will guarantee top-notch rehabilitation in the affected regions that will set a precedent.
Speaking at a press conference, he declared, “We will ensure top-notch rehabilitation. Our objective is to implement a resettlement model that can be a role model for the nation and the world.”
