Manish Sisodia, Released on Bail, Pays Visits to Hanuman Temple and Mahatma Gandhi’s Memorial Rajghat
Mr Sisodia offered prayers at the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place
New Delhi:
The former deputy chief minister of the AAP, Manish Sisodia, paid respects to Mahatma Gandhi at the Rajghat memorial in New Delhi on Saturday, a day after he was released from prison in connection with the Delhi alcohol policy case.
Upon completing his prayers at the Hanuman temple in Connaught Place, he proceeded to the memorial.
Mr. Sisodia was joined by various Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) officials, including MP Sanjay Singh and ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bharadwaj.
The Supreme Court granted Mr. Sisodia bail on Friday in relation to corruption and money laundering allegations associated with the alleged alcohol policy “scandal,” highlighting that his prolonged 17-month detention without trial had violated his right to prompt justice.
Following his temple visit, Mr. Sisodia expressed, “May Lord Hanuman bestow blessings upon all the residents of Delhi.”
He expressed optimism that with the blessings of Lord Hanuman, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently detained in connection with the case, will also be released soon.

Mr. Sisodia is scheduled to visit the AAP headquarters on DDU Marg around noon to speak with party members and officials.
Upon his release from Tihar jail on Friday evening, Mr. Sisodia attributed his bail to the authority of the Constitution, affirming that this same authority will secure the release of Kejriwal.
Mr. Sisodia was apprehended by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26 of the previous year for alleged irregularities in the development and execution of the now-defunct Delhi alcohol policy 2021-22.
