The Terrifying Attack on Saif Ali Khan
In a shocking turn of events, Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was stabbed multiple times at his Mumbai residence in the early hours of Thursday morning. The attacker, who is currently on the run, not only targeted Mr. Khan but also threatened his domestic staff before the brutal assault took place.
Threats and Demands
According to statements given to the police by Mr. Khan’s domestic staff, the assailant wielded a knife and demanded a ransom of Rs 1 crore before carrying out the attack. The staff members also reported that the attacker had threatened them before turning his attention to the actor.
The Attack
The incident occurred at Mr. Khan’s apartment in the upscale Bandra West neighborhood around 2:30 am. The actor sustained six stab wounds, including a serious injury to his neck. He was rushed to Lilavati Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and is now said to be out of danger.
In addition to Mr. Khan, his nurse Eliyama Philip and another staffer were also injured during the attack. The nurse, who was caring for Mr. Khan’s four-year-old son Jehangir at the time, recounted the harrowing experience to the police.
Intruder’s Entry into the House
Saif Ali Khan and his family, including his wife Kareena Kapoor and their two sons, were at home when the intruder entered the premises. The attacker, described as a man between 35-40 years old, was first spotted by Ms. Philip in Mr. Khan’s apartment on the 11th floor.
Ms. Philip, who has been with the Khan household for four years, was alerted by noises in the house and was the first to confront the intruder. She recounted the terrifying moment when she realized that a stranger had entered the home and was headed towards Jehangir’s room.
The Confrontation
Upon hearing Ms. Philip’s screams, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan intervened to protect their family. The actor bravely confronted the attacker, who had armed himself with a wooden stick and a blade, before managing to escape with his family to safety.
Investigation and Manhunt
Police sources revealed that there were no signs of forced entry into the premises, indicating that the intruder may have had prior knowledge of the layout of the building. The attacker was captured on CCTV cameras fleeing the scene and is believed to have scaled a wall to enter the compound before making his way to Mr. Khan’s apartment through a fire escape.
Mumbai Police have launched a massive manhunt, deploying 20 teams to track down the suspect. The public is urged to come forward with any information that may lead to the apprehension of the attacker.
