Donald Trump Inauguration Gala Details
Donald Trump, the 47th President of the United States of America, arrived in Washington DC on Sunday morning ahead of his inauguration ceremony. The weekend festivities began with a star-studded reception at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, attended by 500 guests including his cabinet nominees Pete Hegseth and Lee Zeldin.
The Inaugural Gala kicked off the celebrations, with Mr. Trump participating in a rally and a candlelit dinner with supporters. The President-elect is scheduled to hold a “Make America Great Again Victory Rally” at Capital One Arena for his supporters and attend a candlelight dinner on Sunday evening.
The Inauguration Ceremony
On Monday, Mr. Trump will be sworn in as the President of the United States at 12 pm EST. The ceremony will be followed by the President’s inaugural address, where he will outline his plans for the next four years. Vice President JD Vance will also be sworn in during the event.
Following the ceremony, a celebratory luncheon hosted by the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies will take place in the US Capitol’s Statuary Hall. The President will then participate in the traditional Oval Office signings of executive orders to kick off his second administration.
Inaugural Balls and National Prayer Service
Three official inaugural balls are scheduled for Monday evening, including the Commander in Chief Ball, the Liberty Ball, and the Starlight Ball. Additionally, a National Prayer Service will be held at the Washington National Cathedral on Tuesday morning to mark the official conclusion of the inauguration celebrations.
Change In Swearing-In Venue
President Trump decided to move the inauguration ceremony indoors to the Capitol Rotunda due to extreme cold weather forecasts. This change in venue may impact the crowd size, as the Rotunda can only accommodate about 600 people compared to the 220,000 tickets distributed for an outdoor event.
Presidential Parade and Musical Affair
The inaugural parade will be held inside Capital One Arena for the first time since 1985. The event will feature performances by country stars Carrie Underwood and Lee Greenwood, among others. The celebrations will continue with musical performances at the three official inaugural balls.
Inaugural Lunch and Guest List
The Inaugural Luncheon, a tradition since 1897, will feature a menu of classic American cuisines. President Trump has invited tech titans like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, and Mark Zuckerberg, as well as other prominent figures to attend the inauguration. The guest list includes outgoing President Joe Biden, former presidents, and foreign leaders.
Executive Orders
President Trump has announced plans to sign multiple executive orders on his first day in office, aiming to reverse many of the Biden administration’s policies. These orders may include launching a mass deportation program, increasing oil drilling, and potentially pardoning January 6 rioters. Additionally, meetings with foreign ministers from Japan, India, and Australia are scheduled to take place after the inauguration.
