Selection of Showroom Locations
After months of searching for suitable showroom space, Tesla has zeroed in on prime locations in New Delhi and Mumbai. In New Delhi, the carmaker has chosen a space to lease in the Aerocity area near the international airport. This area is known for its mix of hotels, retail outlets, and offices of global corporations. In Mumbai, Tesla has selected a space in the Bandra Kurla Complex, a bustling business and retail hub near the city’s airport.
Showroom Details
Both showrooms are expected to be around 5,000 square feet in size, providing ample room to showcase Tesla’s electric vehicles. While specific opening dates for the outlets have not been finalized, Tesla plans to begin selling imported EVs in India through these showrooms. It’s important to note that these locations will serve as showrooms and not service centers, with Tesla directly operating the outlets.

In addition to securing showroom locations, Tesla has also posted job ads for 13 mid-level roles in India, including positions for store and customer relationship managers. This move indicates the company’s commitment to establishing a strong presence in the Indian market.
