Indian Team Manager Leaves Midway Through Champions Trophy 2025

Indian cricket team manager R Devraj left the side in the middle of Champions Trophy 2025 after his mother passed away on Sunday. According to a report by Cricbuzz, Devraj received the news and immediately left for Hyderabad. Devraj, who is also the secretary of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), was in Dubai with the Indian cricket team at the time. It is uncertain if he will return to his managerial duties with the team.

Condolences from HCA

The HCA expressed their condolences in a statement, saying, “With deep sorrow, we inform you that our Secretary Devraj’s mother, Kamaleshwari garu, has passed away. May her soul rest in peace. Our heartfelt condolences to Devraj garu and his family.”

India’s Performance in the Champions Trophy

In the final group match of the Champions Trophy, India faced New Zealand and managed to score 249-9, thanks to a gritty 79 by Shreyas Iyer and Hardik Pandya’s late blitz. Matt Henry of New Zealand put up an outstanding performance, taking 5-42 in his eight overs, marking his third five-wicket haul in ODIs. Despite the challenging conditions, Iyer and Axar Patel steadied the innings with a 98-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Pandya’s quick 45 runs towards the end added crucial runs to the total on a slow pitch.

Semi-Final Match Up

The winner of the India vs. New Zealand match will face Australia in the semi-final, while the losing team will take on South Africa. Due to political tensions, India declined to travel to Pakistan and will play their first semi-final in Dubai on Tuesday.

Looking Ahead

Regardless of their placing and opponent, India is gearing up for the semi-final clash and remains focused on their goal of winning the Champions Trophy. The team is determined to put up a strong performance and make their mark in the tournament.

With the cricketing world watching, India will have to regroup and rally together to overcome the challenges ahead and emerge victorious in the Champions Trophy 2025.
