Iconic Voice Missing from Social Media
Shreya, known for her soulful renditions of hits like “Bairi Piya,” “Yeh Ishq Haaye,” “Teri Ore,” and “Deewani Mastani,” had been conspicuously absent from her X account since the hacking episode, leaving her fans eager for her return.
Addressing Online Misuse and Misinformation
In her return post, Shreya also took the opportunity to warn her fans about misleading advertisements that misuse her name and AI-generated images. She cautioned, “These are click baits, which lead to spam / fraudulent links. Please keep reporting these ads. I have no power in putting them down. I have tried my best.”
Call for Stronger Regulations
The singer urged the platform’s management to tackle these issues at their core, saying, “These are X ad regulations, which allow such ads to run. Hope they solve these matters soon.”
Documenting Her Struggles
Shreya had previously communicated with her fans via Instagram in March, detailing the exact date her account was compromised and her persistent efforts to reclaim it. She expressed her frustration, saying, “I have tried everything in my capacity to reach out to the X team. But there has been no response beyond a few auto-generated responses…”
She had also cautioned her followers at the time, “Please don’t click on any link or believe any message written from that account. They are all spams and phishing links. I will update personally through a video if the account is recovered and is safe.”
