NEW DELHI: Companies have approached the federal government, searching for easing of guidelines, enabling them to import Covid-related medicines for free distribution to staff, other than some tweaks in process for import of items reminiscent of oxygen concentrator by people.
While a serious demand for decreasing the built-in GST on imported concentrators has been accepted, there are ideas to simplify guidelines to take away the necessity for KYC verification or validation by authorised courier. “Shipments arrive fast but there is a risk of delays because courier operators do not start clearance till they are convinced about an individual’s KYC, which has been mandated,” stated a authorities supply.
