FORT MYERS, Fla. — A family who simply moved back to Southwest Florida had given up on ever seeing their canine once more after he was stolen tons of of miles away.
His family has been ready years to see their beloved canine, Zion, once more. They waited so lengthy that they even began looked for a brand new canine to be part of their family to assist fill the void he left behind.
But a coincidental on-line search is what bought Zion back house.
“Zion came to us through another rescue locally,” Shannon Palzer, the shelter supervisor at Gulf Coast Humane Society, mentioned.

“He was adopted out a few times, but it just wasn’t the right fit for him,” Palzer mentioned.

That particular person was Cherrie Terry, Zion’s first proprietor.
“He was a great dog, we raised him since he was a baby,” Terry mentioned.
Terry and her family had been looking for Zion for 3 years after he was stolen from them in Miami.
“My mom called every place, everywhere,” Terry mentioned. “At one point, we just kind of gave up and that’s when I started looking for a whole new dog.”
That’s what led Terry to the Gulf Coast Humane Society’s web site after she and her family moved to Lehigh Acres.
“I saw him and I was like, ‘that looks exactly like my dog,’” she mentioned.
They checked Zion’s microchip simply to make sure and it was a match. And so, after three years aside — Zion is a little bit greater, older and mysteriously lacking one foot, and eventually returned house.
“I would be lying if I said I wasn’t crying because I think we all were,” Palzer mentioned.
Palzer mentioned that this story is a reminder of how necessary it’s to get your pets microchipped, so your pet might be returned safely in the event that they ever go lacking.
