Beloved Actress Jill Jacobson of ‘Star Trek’ and ‘Falcon Crest’ Fame Passes Away at 70

The entertainment world mourns the loss of versatile actress Jill Jacobson, who passed away on December 8 at Cedars-Sinai’s Culver West Health Center. Known for her memorable roles across television and film, Jacobson left an indelible mark on Hollywood through her dynamic performances and magnetic screen presence.

Rising to prominence in the 1980s, Jacobson captured audiences’ attention with her compelling portrayal of private detective Erin Jones in the hit series ‘Falcon Crest.’ Her 22-episode run from 1985-87 showcased her ability to bring complex characters to life. Simultaneously, she charmed viewers as Larue Wilson in ‘The New Gidget,’ where her impeccable comic timing earned praise from co-stars, including Caryn Richman.

Science fiction fans remember Jacobson for her appearances in two Star Trek franchises – ‘The Next Generation’ (1989) and ‘Deep Space Nine’ (1996). Her versatility extended to numerous popular shows including ‘Hung,’ ‘Castle,’ and ‘Murphy Brown,’ as well as a role in Ron Howard’s classic ‘Splash’ (1984).

A Texas native with a degree in Radio, TV, and Film Performance from the University of Texas, Jacobson later became a regular performer at LA’s prestigious comedy venues. Beyond entertainment, she was recognized for her dedicated volunteer work with the American Cancer Society.
