Benjamin Netanyahu Issues Warning in Response to Iran and Hezbollah’s Vow of Revenge

Netanyahu stated that Israel is at an extremely high level of readiness for any situation.

Jerusalem:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared on Thursday that Israel was equipped for any “hostility” against it following warnings of reprisal for the deaths of top Hamas and Hezbollah leaders.

“Israel is at an extremely high level of readiness for any scenario, both defensively and offensively. We will exact a very steep cost for any hostile action against us,” Netanyahu expressed in a declaration.

“Those who strike us, we will strike back.”

His remarks came as Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah cautioned Thursday that the Lebanese armed group was obligated to retaliate to Israel’s killing of its top military commander, Fuad Shukr, in a strike on Tuesday in a Beirut suburb.

Later on Thursday, Israel’s Foreign Minister Israel Katz issued a warning in a statement posted on X.

“Hassan Nasrallah, cease the bragging speeches, threats, and falsehoods before you face severe consequences,” Katz stated.

“We will act decisively to restore security to the residents of the north.”

On Wednesday, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh was eliminated in a strike in Tehran, which Iran and Hamas have attributed to Israel. Israel has chosen not to comment on his killing.

“You are unaware of the boundaries you have crossed,” Nasrallah addressed Israel during a speech broadcast at Shukr’s funeral.

“The adversary, and those supporting the adversary, must anticipate our unavoidable retaliation.”
