Agartala:

In the recent three-tier Panchayat elections, which occurred on August 8, the governing BJP has clinched a decisive triumph across numerous constituencies in the region. BJP performed robustly, securing various divisions.

BJP has emerged victorious in all positions in the West Tripura district, except for one or two spots in the Dukli Rural Development Block, where the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) succeeded.

The results have been announced for all 17 Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samitis, and Panchayat Seats, signifying a commanding display by the BJP.

As per the District Election Officer of West Tripura Dr Vishal Kumar, “The outcomes of the polls were declared today. So far, the results for all the positions in West Tripura district have been declared and in all the 17 Zilla Parishads, Panchayat Samitis, and Panchayat Seats, BJP nominees have emerged victorious, with the exception of one or two spots under Dukli Rural Development Block, where the Tripa Motha Party has triumphed.”

The party’s sweep throughout the district is a notable achievement, demonstrating its firm grip in the area. The lone triumphs by the TMP in Dukli Rural Development Block provide a glimmer of hope for the opposition, but the overall result is a resounding success for the BJP.

Mr Kumar also mentioned that in the Unakoti district and North Tripura district, tabulation is still ongoing and outcomes will be announced shortly.

As per the information available to Kumar, in other districts, BJP nominees have secured victory by a substantial margin. Only in certain regions of Ambassa district did CPI (M) nominees prevail.

On the day of voting, a 79.06 per cent voter turnout was recorded until 4 pm, according to details from the State Election Commission (SEC).

Prior to this, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed confidence in the BJP’s success in the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections in the region.

On the final day for submitting nominations for the election, the Chief Minister also visited Mata Tripuri Temple and offered prayers.

In a significant effort to enhance job opportunities, the Tripura administration had previously announced intentions to unveil over 10,000 employment openings following the conclusion of the panchayat elections.

This choice was made by Saha, demonstrating his dedication to the region’s progress and the well-being of its young people. Chief Minister Saha had directed officials to expedite the issuance of pending job offers.

Subsequent to the panchayat surveys, around 10,000 job offers, including roles in the Tripura Police, Junior Recruitment Board Tripura (JRBT), and Special Executives, will be released.

This action is anticipated to significantly decrease joblessness and contribute to the general advancement of Tripura.
