Chandrababu Naidu’s Agenda for Andhra Pradesh at Davos
Davos/New Delhi:
The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Naidu, attended the Davos summit as part of the ‘India Story,’ where he expressed his interest in global trends in investments, particularly in green energy, green hydrogen, and artificial intelligence. He emphasized the importance of speed in doing business and efficient service delivery to citizens.
Importance of Green Hydrogen
Green hydrogen is a clean energy source that only emits water vapor and leaves no residue in the air, making it an environmentally friendly option. While Andhra Pradesh aims to be a leader in producing green hydrogen, the global market still considers it expensive. Mr. Naidu is optimistic about the potential for green hydrogen to become more affordable, especially in the face of increasing concerns about global warming.
He mentioned the NTPC project for green hydrogen in Visakhapatnam, which costs Rs 1.87 lakh crore, as an example of the growing interest and investment in this area. He highlighted the progress being made by Greenco in producing green ammonia and emphasized the importance of transitioning to green energy sources.
Development of Drone City
Mr. Naidu’s government is working on developing a ‘drone city’ in Andhra Pradesh to increase mechanization and efficiency. Drones have the potential to revolutionize various sectors, including policing, healthcare, and disaster relief. By utilizing drones for tasks like police patrolling and disaster response, the state aims to improve service delivery and response times.
Amaravati Project
Mr. Naidu discussed his plans for developing Amaravati as a new, technologically advanced and environmentally sustainable city. He highlighted the need for new cities in India and the government’s efforts to create a model city that prioritizes innovation and sustainability.
India’s Participation at Davos
The Davos summit aims to explore ways to relaunch growth, leverage new technologies, and strengthen social and economic resilience. With nearly 3,000 leaders from over 130 countries in attendance, the event provides a platform for countries like India to showcase their potential for sustainable development and technological innovation.
Overall, Mr. Naidu’s participation at Davos reflects Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to embracing new technologies, promoting green energy solutions, and positioning the state as a leader in sustainable development. Through initiatives like the development of green hydrogen projects and drone cities, Andhra Pradesh is paving the way for a more sustainable and efficient future.
