Traffic Chaos in Delhi Due to Republic Day Parade Dress Rehearsal

Traffic Gridlock in Central Delhi
Central Delhi experienced a major traffic jam on Tuesday as a result of the Republic Day parade rehearsals, causing inconvenience to hundreds of commuters who were left stranded on the roads. The heavy traffic congestion led to delays in reaching destinations and frustration among the affected individuals.

Social Media Outcry
Expressing their frustration, many commuters took to social media to share their experiences. One user posted a picture of the traffic situation near Kartavya Path and criticized the Delhi Traffic Police for not effectively managing the traffic flow. Some individuals reported being late for work or even deciding to skip work altogether due to the chaotic traffic conditions in the city.

South Delhi Traffic Woes
The traffic chaos was not limited to central Delhi, as reports of heavy congestion also emerged from various parts of south Delhi. A commuter shared on social media that they were stuck in a two-hour traffic jam on MB Road, highlighting the extent of the gridlock in different areas of the city.

Metro Station Woes
For those who opted to use the metro as an alternative mode of transportation, long queues at the stations added to their woes. Heightened security checks ahead of Republic Day led to delays in entering the metro stations, further exacerbating the commuting challenges faced by the public. A video shared online depicted the long queues at a metro station, with a user pleading with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to consider the difficulties faced by commuters during peak hours.

Delhi Police Traffic Advisory
In response to the traffic disruptions caused by the Republic Day parade rehearsals, the Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory and implemented special arrangements to ensure the smooth movement of parade participants along Kartavyapath. Despite these efforts, the traffic chaos persisted, highlighting the need for better coordination and planning to minimize the impact on daily commuters.
