Exit Polls Predict BJP’s Return to Power in Delhi After 20 Years, AAP Defeat

The 2025 Delhi election exit polls have created quite a buzz, with predictions favoring the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and spelling trouble for the Congress and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). As votes are set to be counted on Saturday, the political landscape in Delhi is expected to see a significant shift.

BJP Leading in Exit Polls

According to seven exit polls, including DV Research, Chanakaya Strategies, JVC, Poll Diary, P-Marq, People’s Insight, and People’s Pulse, the BJP is expected to emerge victorious. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s party is projected to win between 51 and 60 of Delhi’s 70 Assembly seats, as per People’s Pulse. Other polls also indicate a strong performance by the BJP, with expectations of winning at least 39 seats by JVC, Chanakya Strategies, and P-Marq.

Hope for AAP?

Despite the favorable predictions for the BJP, two standout exit polls – WeePreside and Mind Brink – have indicated a strong performance by Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP. While WeePreside predicts the AAP sweeping between 46 and 52 seats, Mind Brink expects the party to secure between 44 and 49 seats. However, other polls suggest a less optimistic outcome for the AAP, with potential wins ranging from 10 to 34 seats.

AAP’s Rejection of Exit Poll Data

In response to the exit poll results, the AAP has firmly rejected the data, citing similar instances in the past where they defied expectations and emerged victorious. AAP leader Sushil Gupta emphasized the party’s commitment to serving the people of Delhi and expressed confidence in a favorable outcome for the AAP in the election.

Congress’ Challenges

The exit polls also paint a bleak picture for the Congress party, with predictions indicating minimal to no seats won in the election. The party, led by the Gandhi family, is facing significant challenges and is not expected to make a significant impact in the Delhi Assembly.

Overall, the exit polls set the stage for an interesting and potentially transformative outcome in the 2025 Delhi election. While the BJP appears to have an edge, the AAP’s resilience and the Congress’ struggles add layers of complexity to the political landscape in the capital city. As the votes are counted and the results are revealed, the true winner of the election will be determined, shaping the future of Delhi’s governance.
