Gladiator Stunt Director Nick Powell Teams Up with Janhvi Kapoor for Upcoming Film

Janhvi Kapoor’s upcoming espionage thriller, Ulajh, is slated for a theatrical release on August 2, 2024. The film explores the intricate and high-stakes world of Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officers and diplomats. The recently released trailer has already garnered significant attention, featuring Janhvi Kapoor in some captivating action sequences. These action scenes are choreographed by the renowned stunt director Nick Powell, celebrated for his work on international hits like The Bourne Identity, Gladiator, and The Last Samurai.

In a recent interview, Janhvi Kapoor discussed the rigorous preparation for her role, stating, “People often misinterpret the role of IFS officers, assuming it requires the same combat training as other positions. However, the training for IFS officers is more focused on diplomacy, international relations, and strategic communication. Through Ulajh, I gained a deeper understanding of the skill sets essential for an IFS officer. For my character Suhana in Ulajh, we maintained this authenticity. While I didn’t undergo combat training, Nick Powell ensured that the action scenes were authentic to the IFS context.”

Nick Powell commented, “Janhvi is very feminine, and making her perform action sequences while portraying a character who is reluctant to hurt others was challenging.”

Written by Parveez Shaikh and Sudhanshu Saria, with dialogues by Atika Chauhan, Ulajh also stars Gulshan Devaiah, Roshan Mathew, Rajesh Tailang, and Meiyang Chang in significant roles. The film features Adil Hussain, Jitendra Joshi, and Rajendra Gupta as well. Produced by Junglee Pictures, Ulajh promises to be a gripping cinematic experience.
