Harbhajan Singh lashes out at Pakistan fan for claiming Babar Azam ignored Irfan Pathan for interview
Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has criticized a Pakistani supporter on social media. The supporter had shared a video where Pakistan captain Babar Azam can be seen declining an interview. However, the supporter mistakenly claimed that the interviewer was former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan. Angered by the incorrect attribution, Harbhajan came to the defense of his ex-teammate and rebuked the fan. In fact, Harbhajan even ridiculed the English-speaking skills of the Pakistani cricketers.
“Where is Irfan Pathan in this video?” Harbhajan posted on X. “First you lack the manners to speak. Now your eyes have also stopped seeing?” Harbhajan responded.
Although the original tweeter had mentioned that Babar rejected Irfan Pathan, it was clear that Irfan was not present in the video. Harbhajan proceeded to criticize Babar’s English.
Where is @IrfanPathan in this video ?? Bolne ki tameez to aap logo ko pehle hi nahi thi. Ab aankho se dikhna bi bandh ho gya kya ? Waise bi agar angreji mai swal pooch liya to pange pad jayenge. https://t.co/0IQpnDEBC4

“In any case, if the question had been asked in English, there would’ve been a problem,” Harbhajan retorted.
Shortly after Harbhajan’s tweet, Irfan Pathan also noticed the post and advised his former teammate to ignore such posts, stating that their sole purpose is to gain traction on social media.
“They seek attention by lying. Ignore, my friend,” Irfan replied to Harbhajan’s angry reaction.
Inko jhoot bolke REACH chahiye. Ignore maaro Paaji @harbhajan_singh

Unfortunately, the original tweet and Harbhajan’s response sparked several heated exchanges and hateful comments from fans of both countries.
Harbhajan’s viewpoint on India not traveling to Pakistan for 2025 Champions Trophy
Harbhajan has also been in the headlines recently for supporting the reported decision by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to avoid visiting Pakistan for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
“I don’t believe it is secure to go there (Pakistan). Incidents occur there nearly every day. The BCCI’s stance is entirely justified, as the safety of the players is paramount,” Harbhajan told IANS.
India has not visited Pakistan since 2006.
