India is set to organize the 2025 Men’s Asia Cup, which will be contested in the T20 style, while Bangladesh is scheduled to host the 2027 version of the competition in the 50-over format. The 2023 Men’s Asia Cup was arranged by Pakistan and Sri Lanka in a mixed format and was conducted as a 50-over competition, with India emerging as champions. The details regarding venues for upcoming Asia Cups are in accordance with the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) releasing Invitation for Expressions of Interest (IEOI) document, which calls for interested parties to submit their IEOI for ACC Sponsorship Rights from 2024 to 2027.
India had previously hosted a Men’s Asia Cup only once – in 1990/91, where they clinched the title at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. The tender document also specifies that both upcoming editions of Men’s Asia Cup will consist of 13 matches per edition.
The Women’s T20 Asia Cup is slated to take place in 2026 – although the location has not been disclosed yet, it will feature a total of 15 matches. Also outlined in the tender document is the Men’s Under-19 Asia Cup, to be conducted in 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027 respectively, with 15 matches scheduled for each edition.
There is also the Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup – 2024 & 2026 (T20), 2025 & 2027 (50-over) – involving 30 50-over games and an equal number of T20 matches. The tender rights cycle also includes two editions of Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup – with 15 matches to be played in each edition in 2025 and 2027 respectively.
ACC has specified in the tender document that interested parties should possess a net worth exceeding USD 10 million or their annual turnover must, as of March 31, 2024, be over USD 15 million. The deadline to submit EOIs for 2024 to 2027 Sponsorship rights is August 2, 5pm Dubai time.
