Introducing Simar Bhatia: Akshay Kumar’s Niece to Make Bollywood Debut Alongside Agastya Nanda in Ikkis

“The heavens belong to you.” This is how Akshay Kumar expressed his heartfelt congratulations to his niece Simar Bhatia, who is gearing up for her debut in Bollywood in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis. Simar was recently featured on the front page of a newspaper alongside other celebrity offspring making their debuts this year, such as Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani, Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgan, and Saif Ali Khan-Amrita Singh’s son Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Akshay wrote a heartfelt message for Simar, celebrating her achievement. He stated, “I can still recall the first instance I saw my picture on the front page of the newspaper. I believed that was the ultimate joy. However, now I realize that the joy of seeing your child’s picture here surpasses everything.”

On this special occasion, Akshay also fondly remembered his deceased mother and Simar’s grandmother, Aruna Bhatia. He mentioned, “I wish my mom was present today to say, ‘Simar puttar Tu tah Kamaal hai (Dear, Simmar, you have done wonders)’. Bless you my baby, the heavens are yours.” Simar later shared Akshay’s post on her Instagram Stories and responded to his touching words, particularly mentioning his upcoming movie Sky Force. She expressed, “That’s because you are safeguarding the skies #SkyForce. Love you.”

Simar Bhatia is the offspring of Akshay Kumar’s sibling, Alka Bhatia. Alka, a film producer, tied the knot with Vaibhav Kapoor in 1997, and they welcomed their first child, Simar. However, the couple eventually separated. In 2012, Alka married real estate magnate Surendra Hiranandani.

Simar has been gradually gaining popularity on Instagram, where she currently boasts over 12.7K followers, a number that continues to increase. Up to now, Simar has maintained a low-key social media presence, refraining from posting pictures with her family members. Nevertheless, she has shared glimpses of her vacations, childhood, and moments with her college pals in the USA, where she pursued higher education. Recently, she posted a snapshot from her photoshoot and captioned it, “And so it begins 🙏❤️,” marking her official entry into the Hindi film industry.

Simar is all prepared to make her grand Bollywood debut in Sriram Raghavan’s Ikkis, where she will act alongside Agastya Nanda, the grandson of Amitabh Bachchan. The film also stars veteran actors Dharmendra and Jaideep Ahlawat. Ikkis, set during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, narrates the tale of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was posthumously honored with the Param Vir Chakra for his extraordinary courage. The movie is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films and is scheduled for release later this year.
