JEE Mains All India Rank 1 Achieved by Farmer’s Son from Remote Maharashtra Village
Nilkrishna Gajare, offspring of a agriculturist from a distant settlement, clinched All India Rank 1 in JEE Mains.

Through persistence and diligent effort over the past two years, Nilkrishna Gajare, son of a farmer from Maharashtra’s Washim district, has achieved All India Rank 1 in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains.
Originating from Belkhed, an isolated hamlet in Washim, Nilkrishna adhered to a strict routine, devoting more than 10 hours to prepare for the examinations daily.
The outcomes of the JEE Mains administered by the National Testing Agency were disclosed on Thursday.
In a conversation with PTI over the telephone, Nilkrishna’s father, Nirmal Gajare, mentioned he had no words to convey his joy over his son’s triumph.
Nilkrishna completed his primary education at Rajeshwar Convent in Akola and J C High School in Karanja Lad in Washim and had resided with his aunt during that time, he stated.
“Nilkrishna has always been an outstanding scholar and excelled in sports. He engaged in district and national level competitions in archery,” Nirmal Gajare mentioned.
The 19-year-old is pursuing his studies at Shree Dnyaneshwar Maskuji Burungale Science and Arts College, Shegaon.
Nilkrishna rises at 4 am, studies for two hours, practices “pranayam” (breathing exercises) and commences studying again at 8.30 am, retiring by 10 pm, Gajare mentioned.
“I wished for him to excel in studies and life and encouraged him. I aspire for him to attain achievements I never could,” Gajare expressed, elated about his son’s success.
Nilkrishna aspires to attend IIT Bombay and intends to strive towards becoming a scientist, he remarked.
Having surmounted one obstacle to realize his ambition, Nilkrishna is in Shegaon preparing for JEE-Advanced, which is scheduled for the following month.
