For most of us, dehydrated fruits, plantains, and pome fruits have always been part of Hindu puja offerings. However, now, a family substituted outlandish fruits for the original ones. Sharing on X, user Dharmesh Ba revealed that his family presented avocados to the deities instead of plantains. This unorthodox selection of fruit for puja amused many social media users. While some found the post amusing, others questioned the suitability of using a foreign fruit for religious ceremonies. Nevertheless, Mr. Ba’s parents appeared to have a positive perspective.
“Parents are in town, and their offerings to God have been upgraded from plantains to avocados,” Mr. Ba posted on the micro-blogging platform while sharing an image of the exotic fruit.
