Lawmakers in Nepal Raise Concerns Over Death of Nepalese Student in India
Lawmakers in both houses of the federal parliament in Nepal on Tuesday raised concerns over the death of Prakriti Lamsal, a Nepalese student studying at KIIT in Odisha, India. They demanded diplomatic efforts to ensure the safety of Nepalese students studying in India.
Demand for Diplomatic Efforts and Justice
Addressing the house sessions of both assemblies, lawmakers expressed the need for immediate diplomatic and political initiatives to guarantee the security of Nepalese students in India. They questioned the mysterious death of Lamsal, a third-year B-Tech student at KIIT University, and demanded justice for her. The incident led to the expulsion of students from the university on Monday.
