Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended Neeraj Chopra for securing a silver medal in the men’s javelin event at the Paris Olympics 2024.
“Neeraj Chopra embodies excellence! Time and time again, he has showcased his brilliance. India is overjoyed that he has come back with another Olympic triumph. Kudos to him for achieving the silver. He will keep motivating numerous aspiring athletes to chase their aspirations and bring honor to our nation,” PM Modi expressed on X.

Defending titleholder Neeraj Chopra secured silver with a throw of 89.45 meters.
Chopra’s top throw came on his second try, but he struggled with four consecutive invalid throws, which prevented him from winning gold.
Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem clinched the gold medal, marking his nation’s first individual gold at a Summer Games.
Nadeem set an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters, while Grenada’s Anderson Peters secured the bronze with a throw of 88.54 meters.
