Delhi Police and Election Commission Raid Punjab CM’s Residence
A team of Delhi Police and Election Commission officials entered Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s city residence on Thursday evening to investigate a complaint of money distribution. The incident occurred less than a week before the Delhi Assembly election.
Investigation at Kapurthala House
Sources revealed that the police and poll officers were initially held outside Kapurthala House, near Connaught Place in central Delhi, for nearly 90 minutes before finally being allowed inside. During the search, the authorities were video-recording the process.
Earlier, visuals from outside the building showed uniformed security personnel with assault rifles stationed outside the main gate. The Returning Officer for the New Delhi constituency, OP Pandey, confirmed that a complaint had been received via their cVIGIL mobile app regarding money distribution.

In response to the raid, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann accused the Delhi Police and Election Commission of defaming Punjabis at the behest of the BJP. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal also criticized the authorities, questioning why the focus was on the Punjab CM when BJP leaders were openly distributing cash in Delhi.
Chief Minister Atishi also weighed in, alleging that the Election Commission had overlooked numerous violations by the BJP. She cited instances of money and liquor distribution in her constituency, Kalkaji, and even mentioned a resident being threatened by individuals carrying guns.

Reports indicate that the investigation may be linked to the seizure of a car parked outside Punjab Bhavan on Copernicus Marg the previous night. The vehicle’s number plate matched a Ford Eco Sport used by the state, but the car in police custody turned out to be a Hyundai Creta. Delhi Police have initiated a case in this regard.
