Rahul Gandhi Challenges Arvind Kejriwal to Take a Dip in Yamuna River

In a scathing attack on Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi challenged him to fulfill his previous promise of cleaning the Yamuna River. Addressing a public meeting in Hauz Qazi Chowk, Mr. Gandhi took a dig at Mr. Kejriwal, daring him to take a sip of the polluted Yamuna water and jokingly mentioned that they would meet in the hospital later.

The Promise to Clean Yamuna River

Rahul Gandhi reminded the audience of Arvind Kejriwal’s promise to clean the Yamuna River within 5 years and take a dip in it. However, despite the passage of time, the river remains dirty and polluted. Mr. Gandhi seized the opportunity to challenge Mr. Kejriwal to drink the water from the Yamuna River, highlighting the failure to fulfill the promise of cleaning the river.

Criticism of AAP Leadership

Taking aim at the core team of the Aam Aadmi Party, which includes members like Manish Sisodia, Atishi, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chaddha, and Satyendra Jain, Rahul Gandhi drew parallels between them and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He criticized the lack of diversity in the AAP leadership, pointing out the absence of representation from marginalized communities.

Comparison with Narendra Modi

Rahul Gandhi drew a comparison between Arvind Kejriwal and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that both leaders have failed to address the issues faced by the people. He accused Kejriwal of remaining silent on important matters and highlighted the similarities in their leadership styles. Gandhi emphasized the need for a leader who prioritizes unity over division.

Ideological Battle

Gandhi framed the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections as a battle between two ideologies – one of unity represented by the Congress party and one of hatred embodied by the BJP-RSS alliance. He underscored the importance of choosing a party that promotes inclusivity and harmony, contrasting it with the divisive politics of hatred.
