Rajasthan Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore Steps in to Address Assault on Army Soldier at Jaipur Police Station

The minister displayed strong disapproval of the police behavior and called for responsibility.

Jaipur (Rajasthan):

In a recent incident at Shastri Path police station in Jaipur, a soldier was allegedly assaulted by police officers, leading to a visit from Rajasthan’s Minister for Industries and Sports, Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.

The minister expressed strong disapproval of the police behavior and called for responsibility.

On Monday afternoon, Minister Rathore paid a surprise visit to the Shastri Path police station, where he criticized the conduct of the station officer and Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sanjay Sharma.

As per Rathore, a soldier deployed in Kashmir, who had traveled to Jaipur for personal matters, was detained and subjected to cruel treatment at the police station. The soldier was reportedly stripped, assaulted, and insulted with disrespectful comments about the military.

“This mindset is truly reprehensible, and I believe that the Rajasthan government will take action against those who hold such beliefs. His medical report clearly shows that he was attacked without justification. Those who violate the law must face consequences,” Mr. Rathore stated in an interview with ANI.

Minister Rathore criticized the language used by the officers, deeming it intolerable. He called for strict action against the individuals responsible and urged the Jaipur Police Commissioner and the Director General of Police to ensure appropriate steps are taken.

The minister’s visit and his rebuke of the police officers were recorded in a video that is now widely circulating on social media.
