On Wednesday, Samsung unveiled a new initiative aimed at sharing its advanced smartphone repair expertise with its service centers worldwide. The South Korean technology giant is deploying company specialists to different countries to educate employees on new repair techniques. Recently, an expert focusing on Galaxy smartphones was sent to India to assist staff in acquiring these skills. In the future, the company intends to extend this knowledge to smart TVs as well.
Samsung Announces New Programme to Enhance Smartphone Repair Capability
In a press release on its Korean newsroom site, the company introduced the new program, stating (translated from Korean), “Samsung Electronics Service is expanding its top-notch service capabilities globally…Samsung Electronics Service initiated the ‘Domestic Service Experts Overseas Dispatch’ program as a regular offering this year.”
The initiative aims to bridge the gap in repair service quality between South Korea and other countries. Samsung emphasizes that these international service capabilities will concentrate on improving repairs and customer consultations to enhance user satisfaction.
As part of the initiative, Samsung sent a “Galaxy service expert instructor” to Samsung Electronics India. This instructor visited eight major service centers in the country, sharing their knowledge with the local teams.
The instructor’s primary focus was transferring the expertise of single-piece repairs to India’s mobile screen repair center (MSRC), the largest hub for smartphone display single-piece repairs in the country.
Describing the process, Samsung stated, “Display unit repair is an advanced technique involving the disassembly of the display unit, frame, battery, etc., and replacing only the necessary components. Display unit repair requires high-level technical skills and specialized equipment.” Similar progress has been made in various other nations.
Samsung also plans to broaden the program’s scope beyond smartphones to encompass other devices. The company will soon dispatch a specialist instructor for home appliances and TVs to the Philippines to educate local workers on AI home appliance technology.
