Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLC K Kavitha recently attended the Peddagattu Jatara festival in Telangana’s Suryapet district. This five-day festival is celebrated in honor of Lord Lingamanthulu Swamy and Goddess Choudamma once every two years. It is considered to be the second-largest religious congregation in Telangana, following the Medaram Sammakka-Saralamma jatara.

Significance of Peddagattu Jatara

During her visit to the Lingamantula Swamy temple, K Kavitha expressed her gratitude for being able to offer prayers and participate in the rituals of the festival. She highlighted the cultural and traditional importance of the Peddagattu Jatara, emphasizing that it reflects the rich heritage of Telangana. Kavitha also mentioned that under the leadership of Chief Minister KCR, significant funds were allocated for the development of the temple and the smooth conduct of the festival.

In her own words, Kavitha stated, “The jatara is a symbol of our rich cultural and spiritual heritage, whose devotion keeps our traditions alive.” She took to Twitter to share her experience at the sacred festival and sought the blessings of Lingamantula Swamy for the well-being of the people of Telangana.
