Tirupati Temple Takes Action Against 18 Non-Hindu Employees

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Takes Action Against Non-Hindu Employees

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD), the governing body of the famous Tirupati temple in India, has recently made headlines for taking action against 18 non-Hindu employees. These employees had apparently been following non-Hindu practices, despite having taken an oath to uphold and follow the Hindu faith when they joined the organization.

Consequences for Non-Compliance

As a result of their actions, all 18 employees have been barred from participating in any religious activities at the temple. They have also been asked to transfer to positions that are not connected to the temple. The TTD Board stated that this decision was made in order to preserve the spiritual sanctity of the temples and religious activities under its jurisdiction.

The board has further resolved to either transfer these employees to government departments or facilitate their exit through the Voluntary Retirement Scheme. This move comes after the board received complaints about these employees allegedly participating in non-Hindu religious activities while also taking part in Hindu religious fairs, festivals, and functions organized by the TTD.

Oath of Allegiance

Employees of the Tirupati temple are required to take an oath in front of the photo or idol of Lord Venkateshwara, promising to follow the Hindu faith and traditions. However, the actions of these 18 employees were found to be in violation of this oath and were deemed to “demean” the prestige of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.

Strict Measures

In response to these findings, the TTD has issued orders for disciplinary action against the employees in question. Two officials have been assigned the task of verifying the current postings of these employees and ensuring that they are not involved in any temple-related work or activities.

Preserving Sanctity

The TTD’s decision to take action against non-compliant employees underscores its commitment to preserving the sanctity and traditions of the temples under its administration. By upholding the principles of the Hindu faith and ensuring that all employees adhere to them, the TTD aims to maintain the spiritual integrity of its sacred sites and religious practices.
