Trump confirms participation in Fox News debate with Kamala Harris scheduled for Sept. 4

Donald Trump, the previous President, has accepted an invitation from Fox News to engage in a discussion with Vice President Kamala Harris on September 4, as stated in a post on Truth Social late last Friday.

“I have consented to debate Kamala Harris on Wednesday, September 4th, as arranged by Fox News. The Debate was initially planned against Sleepy Joe Biden on ABC, but has been canceled since Biden will no longer be participating,” Trump mentioned in his post.

“The Fox News Debate will take place in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, at a location in a region to be decided,” he added. “The Moderators of the Debate will be Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum, and the Guidelines will be similar to the Regulations of my Debate with Sleepy Joe, who has been mistreated by his Party – BUT WITH A FULL ARENA AUDIENCE!….”

Trump had been open to facing President Joe Biden head-on, and a debate was initially set for September 10 on ABC News. Nevertheless, after Biden withdrew from the race last month and Harris emerged as the presumptive Democratic nominee, Trump had been hesitant about whether he would participate in a debate with Harris.

“I am interested in having a debate. However, I can also state this. Everyone is aware of my identity. And now individuals are familiar with her identity,” Trump mentioned in an interview on Fox News last Monday.

Trump has avoided debates previously and did not participate in any of the 2024 Republican presidential primary discussions.

In the meantime, Trump and Harris have initiated an advertising battle targeting each other in crucial swing states, with Harris launching a $50 million three-week advertising campaign before the Democratic National Convention while Trump has secured $12 million worth of airtime across Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin, according to AdImpact.

No immediate information regarding the potential debate has been disclosed.
