United States Ready to Collaborate with Bangladesh’s Interim Government

The United States expressed on Wednesday that it is prepared to collaborate with the provisional government of Bangladesh as the nation paves a democratic path for its citizens.

“We are continuously observing the changes in Bangladesh, and we have indeed noted the selection of Muhammad Yunus as the head of an interim government,” State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller conveyed to journalists during his routine press briefing.

“We believe that the provisional government will have a crucial role in establishing enduring peace and political steadiness in Bangladesh,” Miller mentioned in response to queries about the rapidly evolving situation in Bangladesh.

A representative from the State Department, on the other hand, informed PTI, “All decisions related to the provisional government must uphold democratic values, legal principles, and the desires of the Bangladeshi populace.” “We have been informed that Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus has accepted the leadership of Bangladesh’s interim government. We are prepared to collaborate with the provisional government as it outlines a democratic future for the people of Bangladesh,” the representative stated in reply to an inquiry.

Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus is scheduled to be sworn in as the chief of Bangladesh’s temporary government on Thursday, as he made an impassioned plea for everyone to remain composed and “refrain from any form of violence” to make optimal use of “our recent triumph”.

While authorities worked swiftly to restore order, Army chief Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman announced on Wednesday that the provisional government will be sworn in around 8 pm on Thursday. He mentioned that the advisory council might consist of 15 members.
