Vietnam Prime Minister reached New Delhi late on Tuesday evening.

New Delhi:

Vietnam Premier Pham Minh Chinh arrived in New Delhi late on Tuesday evening for a three-day state visit which is anticipated to further enhance the longstanding connections between the two nations.

“Cordial reception to PM Phạm Minh Chinh of Vietnam as he comes to New Delhi on a State Visit. India and Vietnam have cultural ties and a enduring friendship built on mutual confidence. The visit will bolster our Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,” Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated in a post on X.

The Vietnamese Premier is set to take part in various activities and business gatherings on Wednesday. He will be given a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.

On the same day, Pham Minh Chinh will visit the Raj Ghat to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi and then engage in bilateral discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will also organize a luncheon in tribute to the visiting delegation.

Chinh is also planned to meet with President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar during his visit.

“India sees Vietnam as a crucial pillar of its Act East Policy and a significant partner in its Indo-Pacific vision,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) mentioned on Tuesday.

India-Vietnam relations have been improving since the establishment of a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s trip to Hanoi in 2016.

PM Modi has stressed Vietnam’s significance as a crucial pillar of India’s ‘Act East’ policy and the Indo-Pacific vision, while aiming to broaden the range of the bilateral relationship – including defense partnership – in addition to striving for swift progress on the current initiatives.
