Woman Discovers Hidden Phone in Bathroom at Bengaluru’s ‘Third Wave’ Store

An staff member of a renowned coffee chain in Bengaluru concealed a cell phone in the ladies’ restroom, with the “video recording on for approximately two hours”. The event took place at the Third Wave Coffee store on BEL Road in the city.

An Instagram account, ‘Gangs Of Cinepur’, posted a story on their profile, where a user recounted what transpired at the store. “I was at the Third Wave Coffee outlet in Bengaluru… A woman discovered a phone in the lavatory, hidden in the trash can, with video recording on for about 2 hours, facing the toilet seat. It was in flight mode to ensure it produces no sound,” the story stated.

“The phone was carefully hidden in the trash bag and had a hole made in it so that only the camera was exposed. It was quickly discovered that the phone belonged to one of the males working there. The authorities were notified, and they arrived promptly, and measures are being taken,” it added.

“This was so dreadful to witness. I will be watchful at any restroom I use from now on, regardless of how reputable the chain of cafes or eateries is. I urge all of you to do the same. This is revolting,” the story shared on the Instagram account read.

Third Wave Coffee addressed the occurrence and stated, “We regret the unfortunate incident at our BEL Road store in Bengaluru and want to stress that such actions are absolutely intolerable at Third Wave Coffee.”

The authorities confirmed that the defendant had been apprehended under the IT Acts. The man is in his early twenties and originates from Bhadrawati in Karnataka.
