Carson Beck, Georgia Quarterback, Set to Enter NCAA Transfer Portal

In a surprising turn of events, Carson Beck, the 23-year-old quarterback for the University of Georgia, is reportedly set to enter the NCAA transfer portal, as announced by On3’s Pete Nakos. Although Beck had previously committed to declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft, he has decided to play one more season at the collegiate level.

During his time with the Bulldogs, Beck showcased his skills with impressive statistics. In the 2024 season, he threw for an impressive 3,485 yards, recording 28 touchdowns against 12 interceptions, while achieving a completion rate of 64.7%. His season came to an unfortunate end during the SEC Championship game, where he sustained an injury due to a sack just before halftime.

Despite initially returning for the game’s last play—when he handed off to Trevor Etienne for the winning touchdown in a 22–19 victory over Texas—Beck was later diagnosed with a torn UCL in his right elbow. This injury ultimately ruled him out for the remainder of the Georgia season, which concluded with a loss to Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals, ending their journey with a score of 23–10 in the Sugar Bowl.

Beck’s tenure as a two-year starter for the Bulldogs began after Stetson Bennett led the team to consecutive national championships. Over those two seasons, Beck accumulated impressive numbers, completing 68% of his passes, amassing 7,426 yards, and throwing for 52 touchdowns.

With his depth of experience and track record of success, Beck is likely to generate significant interest in the NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) arena, a factor that may have influenced his decision to utilize his final year of college eligibility.
