Real Madrid’s Thrilling Victory Over Sevilla Fueled by Mbappe and Valverde Stunners, Navas Bids Farewell

Real Madrid showcased their attacking prowess with a convincing victory over Sevilla, driven by spectacular long-range goals from Kylian Mbappe and Federico Valverde. The match, ending in a 4-2 scoreline, saw Los Blancos climb to second in the La Liga standings, increasing pressure on league leaders Atletico Madrid.

The first half was a whirlwind of offensive action for Real. Mbappe opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a sensational, dipping strike from 25 yards, capping off a rapid counter-attack. Ten minutes later, Valverde doubled the lead, unleashing an equally impressive 30-yard rocket following a corner. Rodrygo further solidified Madrid’s dominance, slotting home a Lucas Vazquez cut-back in the 34th minute. At the same time, Sevilla managed to pull one back through Isaac Romero, and the first half ended with Real Madrid firmly in control.

The second half continued the exciting tempo. Eight minutes after the break, Mbappe turned provider, setting up Brahim Diaz to elegantly chip the ball over the goalkeeper. However, the focus soon shifted to an emotional moment as Sevilla captain Jesus Navas entered the pitch for the final time in his storied career. The 39-year-old, who made his 705th appearance for Sevilla on the 20th anniversary of his first appearance at the Bernabeu, was given a standing ovation by the home crowd. Despite coming close to providing an assist, Navas’s farewell was marked by a bittersweet moment when Isaac Romero’s shot rebounded off the post.

Late in the match, Dodi Lukebakio scored for Sevilla to reduce the deficit to two. Despite that, Real Madrid secured all three points, marking their 19th win in their last 20 home games against Sevilla. This victory allowed them to surpass Barcelona in the league standings and puts them only one point behind league leaders Atletico Madrid with a game in hand.

This result comes as a further blow to Barcelona, who lost to Atletico Madrid on Saturday and have struggled for consistency since their resounding victory over Real Madrid in October. Real Madrid’s commanding performance against Sevilla clearly signals their title ambitions.
