Severe Weather Devastates Adams County, Damaging Homes and Infrastructure
Residents of Kenesaw, Prosser, Roseland, Holstein, Juniata, Trumbull, and Hastings faced a tumultuous Saturday afternoon.
The National Weather Service and NTV Weather team reported that multiple towns experienced tornado warnings, hailstorms, and heavy rainfall.
The Adams County Emergency Management detailed the extensive damage:
- Downed trees, branches, and powerlines, with the worst damage in the Roseland area.
- Adams Central from Prairie Lake to Oakridge was closed.
- 70mph wind gusts were reported at Marian & Highland, though no direct damage was observed.
- Adams Central at 70th Ave was closed due to flooding.
- Arcing power lines set a tree on fire in East Idlewilde.
- 400-800 Hastings Utilities customers in Central Hastings lost power.
- Tipped pivots around Roseland.
- One residential structure in Roseland suffered roof and siding damage.
- Two grain bins in Roseland were damaged.
