Top Parkinson’s Specialist Meets with Biden’s Doctor Amid Health Concerns, Report Says
A report reveals that a leading neurologist specializing in Parkinson’s Disease recently met with President Joe Biden’s personal doctor at the White House.
Parkinson’s Disease, a progressive neurological condition, often results in physical and mental decline, characterized by stiff movements, hand tremors, blank facial expressions, and slurred speech. These are symptoms Biden has exhibited in recent years.
After the tumultuous presidential debate with former President Donald Trump, Biden’s health has been scrutinized more closely, during the debate, he struggled to speak coherently, frequently failing to complete sentences and losing his train of thought.
According to The New York Post, White House visitor logs show that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s Disease specialist at Walter Reed Medical Center, met with Dr. Kevin O’Connor, Biden’s personal doctor, at the White House clinic on January 17. Also present was Dr. John E. Atwood, a cardiologist at Walter Reed, and an unnamed individual.
Dr. O’Connor has denied that Biden has Parkinson’s Disease. In a February memo, O’Connor stated that detailed health examinations, including a neurological exam, found no evidence of neurological disorders such as stroke, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson’s Disease, as reported by CNN.
The report suggests the meeting was likely about Biden’s health. Dr. O’Connor, who has been Biden’s physician since he assumed the presidency in 2021, treats only Biden and his immediate family, including First Lady Jill Biden.
Former White House physician Ronny Jackson, now a Republican lawmaker, accused the Biden family of a cover-up. He told The Post, “I believe he and Jill Biden have led the cover-up. Kevin O’Connor is like a son to Jill Biden — she loves him. Kevin O’Connor was in that job on day one of the Biden administration because they knew they could trust Kevin to say and do anything that needed to be said or done and cover up whatever needed to be covered up. He is part of the Biden family.”
Rob Howard, a professor of old age psychiatry at University College London, told the newspaper that Biden displayed several signs consistent with Parkinson’s Disease. Howard noted Biden’s “fluctuation in attentional function, his facial appearance, and his gait,” though he stressed he was not offering a formal diagnosis.
In response, the White House stated that several doctors from Walter Reed visit the White House to treat many military personnel working there. Walter Reed is the premier U.S. military-run hospital. “A wide variety of specialists from the Walter Reed system visit the White House complex to treat thousands of military personnel who work on the grounds,” said the White House in a statement to The Post.
