Inderlok Delhi police suspended cops for ‘kicking’ namazis

The incident happened during the ‘Asar ki namaz‘ around 2 pm near Inderlok Metro Station. The Inderlok Delhi Police on Friday suspended a sub-inspector for allegedly kicking a few people and slapping the men. The Policemen even seemed to strike a second on his neck while offering namaz on the road in north Delhi’s Inderlok area on Friday, police said. They can see one head constable, followed by another, shouting at them to get up and leave the area.
The video has gone viral on social media. The video shows one cop trying to scatter the crowd that had gathered. At the same time, the suspended individual delivers a kick to one of the men who had knelt to pray. Reports specify the men were praying outside because the mosque was filled. Angry protesters later blocked the road to demand action against the cop. News agency PTI recited that MK Meena, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Delhi North), is taking necessary disciplinary action.
Law enforcement authorities have intensified security in the area to maintain law and order. The Delhi Congress termed the incident “shameful” in a post.
“Very shameful! Inderlok Delhi Police jawan kicking people offering namaz on the road. What could be more shameful…?
“Deputy Commissioner” of Police (North) Manoj Meena stated that the police department is initiating a departmental inquiry against the officers seen assaulting the people in the video.
