During subsequent court proceedings on Monday, prosecutors revealed that Alston Jr. procured components for the 9 mm ghost gun utilized in the assault via online channels, assembling it in collaboration with an associate.

According to Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office Juvenile Court Division Chief Carlotta Woodward, Alston Jr. brought the firearm to school in anticipation of a confrontation, subsequently entering a boys’ restroom that fateful Friday afternoon, armed with the loaded firearm concealed in his waistband. Allegedly, he brandished the weapon at the victim’s head, resulting in the victim’s injury to the pelvic region upon attempting to fend off the aggression.

Following the incident, Alston Jr. purportedly sought refuge within a classroom alongside fellow students, carrying a magazine loaded with nine rounds secreted within his sock.

In light of the distressing events at Magruder High School, officials representing the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), the State’s Attorney Office, and Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) convened a joint press conference on Monday to provide updates on the situation.
