Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher Announce Their Divorce After 13 Years of Marriage

Their union, which commenced in 2010 and blossomed into a family of five, has now reached its final chapter.

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher are bidding adieu to their marital journey.

“After engaging in a prolonged tennis match spanning more than two decades, we are finally laying down our racquets. In 2023, we jointly decided to dissolve our marriage,” they revealed in statements shared on their Instagram Stories on April 5.

“Throughout this transition, we have consistently upheld our commitment to privacy, navigating this change with discretion,” they further expressed. “Our dedication and affection for our children remain unwavering. We kindly request your continued respect for our family’s desire for privacy.”

Fisher, aged 48, and Baron Cohen, aged 52, exchanged vows on March 15, 2010, and are proud parents to three children. Their paths first crossed in 2001 at a soirée in Sydney, Australia, long before their cinematic triumphs with hits like 2006’s Borat and 2005’s Wedding Crashers.

“She was an absolute riot. We found ourselves at a rather pompous gathering, and she and I connected over gently ribbing the other guests,” reminisced Baron Cohen about their initial encounter in a 2020 interview with The New York Times. “I just knew. Whether she did too, I cannot say.”

Their courtship led to an engagement in 2004, followed by the arrival of their first child three years later.

Reflecting on their bond, Fisher once mused to The Australian Women’s Weekly whether their commitment to privacy was “the secret” to their enduring union, acknowledging the sanctity of their intimate family life.

“I’m a bit apprehensive discussing it because I feel that by keeping our relationship away from public scrutiny, by not delving into how we met or openly discussing our marriage, it has retained its significance and value to me,” she revealed. “… Yet, the shared ability to find levity in life’s sharpness inevitably fosters connection. Besides, some things are best kept to oneself.”
