Former Obama Aide’s Scathing Critique of Senator Sinema Sparks Controversy

In a recent outburst, a former aide to President Barack Obama didn’t hold back in criticizing Senator Kyrsten Sinema for her divergence on the filibuster issue.

Alyssa Mastromonaco didn’t mince words when she referred to Sinema as unflatteringly as possible during an episode of the “Pod Save America” podcast. According to Chartable, a platform for podcast analytics, the show ranks among the top news programs on Apple Podcasts, indicating significant listenership.

Mastromonaco’s comments were laced with profanity, with her expressing deep-seated grievances towards Sinema’s stance on bipartisanship and moderation. She particularly took issue with a recent speech by Sinema, delivered as President Joe Biden visited Capitol Hill.

The conversation took a more humorous turn when Mastromonaco discussed Sinema’s actions on the Senate floor, likening them to someone preparing for battle in a video game. She criticized Sinema’s self-proclaimed “maverick” status, contrasting it with the late Senator John McCain’s reputation as a true maverick.

Senator Sinema, along with fellow Democrat Senator Joe Manchin, broke ranks with their party by voting against the abolition of the filibuster and an exception that would have facilitated the passage of Democratic voting legislation.

Sinema justified her position by arguing that while she supports certain bills, she cannot endorse actions that exacerbate the nation’s political divisions.

Neither Senator Sinema’s representatives nor Mastromonaco responded immediately to requests for comment on the matter.

Phelim McAleer, an Irish American filmmaker currently involved in a Hunter Biden biopic, criticized Mastromonaco’s remarks, labeling them as hypocritical and calling for an apology to Senator Sinema.

Mastromonaco, 45, served as White House deputy chief of staff for operations under President Obama from 2011 to 2014 and has since been involved in media roles at A&E Networks and Vice Media.
