Greg Slaughter Joins Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka: A New Chapter in Japanese Basketball

In a move that’s sure to stir up excitement, Greg Slaughter has penned a contract with the Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka, marking his entry into Japan’s B.League Division 2.

Welcomed with open arms by Fukuoka over the weekend, the towering 7-foot center expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “Hello everyone! I’m truly thrilled to be joining the vibrant city of Fukuoka and its incredible fan base. Your support means the world to me, and I can hardly wait to hit the court!”

Sharing his joy on social media, Slaughter announced his signing with Rizing Zephyr Fukuoka for not just one but two seasons, underlining his commitment to the team and its supporters. He extended his gratitude to all involved in facilitating the move, emphasizing the warm reception his family and he received from the club.

Formerly the top pick in the 2013 PBA Draft, Slaughter’s tenure with NorthPort concluded in the previous season’s Governors’ Cup, where he made a notable impact despite limited appearances.

Now, Fukuoka anticipates leveraging Slaughter’s seasoned prowess to bolster their performance, aiming to transcend their previous season’s record.
